Tanning Hides - Fleshing

Now take the hide and throw it over a log or make it out taught over a piece of plywood. The object is to be able to work with the flesh side of the hide and not have it moving and giving as you work with it.
Now scrape all meat and fat from the hide. After you have done this you must keep doing this. Keep working the hide until you begin to see the pores of the skin from the other side. If you go all the way through, well learn from your mistake, you have gone too far. Sometimes you might pull hair from the other side of the pelt through. That is an indication to stop working in that area and move to another spot. You will get the hang of this. It isn't as hard as it may sound although it does require some elbow grease.
The head and maybe the tail are the hardest areas to flesh out and you can opt to just cut those areas off if you like. Depends on what you want the hide for.
