What Is A Decoction

Decoction is a process, usually associated with medicine, of extracting chemicals by boiling plant material, such as stems, roots, bark and leaves. Decoction usually starts by first mashing the plant material and then boiling it in water to the desired chemical substances. Liquids made by the decoction method are called herbal teas, teas, coffees, or tinctures.
